Final Show from Mevio Feed... we'll just call it Show 43, OK?

Good morning/afternoon/evening from the Beeeee you tea full Rocky Mountain state of Idaho

This is the last show on this feed. Please pop by the website
(boiseandbeyondpodcast.blogspot.com) or my new host Libsyn (boiseandbeyond.libsyn.com) and see how to get the new shows on iTunes. Since I have to resubmit the podcast for their approval, you'll have to manually subscribe, and although it takes a couple of steps on your part, I'll try to make it worth your while.

Show number 41 is already up and ready for you! Show 42 shownotes are posted, and the show will be up tonight.

You can still write to the show at anytime... boiseandbeyond@gmail.com or leave a voice mail on the comment line at 1-401-6BOISE6... UK and NZ numbers available, but you'll have to ask for them, lol.

The first 5 people who either write or call will get a small gift of appreciation mailed to them. It will be something of my choice from my goodie bag of all the stuff I have from around the world.

In short, I'd like to thank everyone who found this show on here, and hope you'll download the new feed. I promise I'll be making more shows than last year!!

Also, my personal blog is available to you... Tiggrztravels.blogspot.com as well as the new Goggle + account for the show. Not sure what I'll do with that one.

Twice in the last month, it has been linked to in the British Pen Pals Daily Blog

This week, I am going back to England. Afterwards I will be doing product reviews on a mobile wifi rental, a Quad phone service, the Savoy Hotel in Blackpool, and I'll be giving a report on the Legends dinner at Fratton Park for the induction of former players into Portsmouth FC Hall of Fame.

I will also be posting audio blogs via audioboo. Follow those on audioboo.fm/tiggr for the latest updates from England.

In Oct, I will be going to a Super Secret Location in October. And am having a contest to see who can guess where that will be... clues will be given by audioboo, and the prize package will include a variety of gifts from around the world (we aren't talking a lot of money here, just more stuff!)

My musical guests for my last show on the Mevio feed are the Clumsy Lovers, a Celtic Bluegrass band from British Columbia who concider Boise their second home. They often play gigs in Idaho, in Moscow, Ketchum and Boise.

Back in 2002, my oldest son travelled with them on tour as their sound engineer, and picked up a little guitar knowledge from Trevor from the band.If you EVER get a chance to see them at a concert venue or a festival, GO!Do not hesitate to take the children. There shows are for all ages and you won't be in your seats long. The Clumsy Lovers music forces you out of your seat to bounce, sway and dance through the entire show!!

Permission given by The Clumsy Lovers to use their songs via MySpace Direct Message. Thanks, guys!!!

This is the show Number 42

Shoutouts:

Vicki in Idaho-

This month, I am going back to England.Afterwards I will be doing product reviews on a mobile wifi rental, a Quad phone service, the Savoy Hotel in Blackpool, and I'll be giving a report on the Legends dinner at Fratton Park for the induction of former players into Portsmouth FC Hall of Fame.

In Oct, I will be going to a Super Secret Location in October. If you haven't already, go to audioboo.fm and search for my boo account under TIGGR... I'm going to try to travel with one less piece of equipment this trip, my laptop, so I'll be sending out up to 30 min of updates and/or soundscapes through audioboo. When I get home, I'll edit together the best bits from the BOOs, if any, and put them up as a podcast.

Hopefully, I'll have some new music from this trip too!

Back to Back to Back (B2B2B) This is the part of the show where the music comes in.

Todays our musical guest is: NICK TANN

Nick is from the south coast of England, quite near Portsmouth, in fact, and is a singer/songwriter and podcaster. His "Is This Thing On Podcast" is one of the best I've found. His patter and banter with mates inbetween selections from Indie artists make 90 minutes seem like 10. I listen to most podcasts at work, and if I have to stop what I'm doing to fast forward through a song that hurts my ears, I remember. This RARELY happens with Nick's selections.

"I’m a singer/songwriter born and raised in London, now living near Southampton on the south coast of the UK.

My main instrument is a 12 string guitar that I have had since I was 18 years old.

I write songs about things that have happened to me, to people I know and some other stuff that I just make up.

My influences reflect in my songs. Elvis Costello by way of Sting, Jeff Buckley and Stevie Wonder although people have often compaired me to Nick Drake and John Martyn."

On his personal website, nicktann.co.uk, he has three, count em, three albums you can download for....

FREEEEEEEEE!!

I bought a CD from Nick which was a mere 5 English pounds... about 8 dollars, and that included mailing it all the way to Idaho! It has with 14 selections on it, and I'm going to randomly play three of them for you. They are all from Indie artists who graciously allowed Nick to use them in this compilation, so if you like any of them, or want the entire CD, please buy directly from the artist, if you can. I'm going to try and bring home a couple more copies for future give-aways.

Songs:

The Backpacker ............ Tim Farrell

Fusion ..................... Gideon's Demise

Regrets .................... Amaya Huntly

Bonus Track........

Life is a River ............ Nick Tann

BNB Show 41- Moving over to Libsyn

Good morning/afternoon/evening from the Beeeee you tea full Rocky Mountain State of Idaho

Today's show color is: Green (all ages)
B2B2B spotlight is on: Jonathan Walker

This is the first show from my new host, Libsyn. iTunes is showing 40 shows for me, including all the bits and pieces I have uploaded, so we'll start the numbers off at 41 with this show.

First of all, if you have been listening to me all along, or at least since before the move to Libsyn, thank you soooooooo much!!! If you are a new listener/subscriber... WELCOME!! It's nice to have you. In either case, drop me a note and let me know who you are and how you found the show.

Write to the show at anytime... boiseandbeyond@gmail.com or leave a voice mail on the comment line at 1-401-6BOISE6... UK and NZ numbers available, but you'll have to ask for them.

Why did I change to Libsyn?
Mevio meltdown

Where have I been since the last show? Well, the last two shows were Feb and Oct of 2010. That's right, over a year ago since the last show.
Since Feb of 2010, I have been to:

England
San Francisco/Sacramento, CA
Las Vegas, NV
Tucson, AZ
New Zealand
San Antonio, TX
Sun Valley, ID

In subsequent shows, I'll be telling you about parts of those trips. Where I stayed, who I met (and how I met them to begin with), what I saw (tourist and non tourist) and generally how each trip was.

In 2012, I will be going back to England as well as a Super Secret Location in October.

I'll be formatting this show a bit differently from the old Boise and Beyond shows that you've come to know and love.

I'll still have stories from my travels, travel tips, news and views, but the music segment will be called Back to Back to Back (or...B2B2B).

This is where I'll play three selections from a single artist or group, without interruption. If, by some chance, there are explicit lyrics in the song, the show color will be RED... If I'm not sure how the music will be received, the color will be YELLOW... and if I'm wowed by the music and it's suitable for all ages, the show color will be GREEN.

Back to Back to Back (B2B2B)

To start off our new relationship with Libsyn, our musical guest is
Jonathan Walker

"I was born in Liverpool about 30 years ago in Mill Road Hospital in Liverpool, since demolished (Not because of me). I grew up in Paraguay (Next to Brazil) which is where I first discovered my love of music in general and the Beatles in particular. At 9 years old a friend of my dad's lent me a copy of "A Hards Day's Night" and it was love at first sight...

I've made my living from playing music for the last few years and it has been a wonderful adventure. As well as Liverpool, I've played in Durham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, York, Chester, Norwich, London, Canterbury, Cambridge, Asheville and Maryland (USA) and many other places. There's a kind of magic playing on the streets that you can't get from playing in doors. It's the people you meet, the songs you can share, and the sense of freedom and
being alive. The one big downside is the weather!"

I met Jonny in April of 2010 when he was playing outside shops in Liverpool One shopping center. We kept walking by him, to and from the quay and the Beatles exhibits, so I stopped and took some video of him busking and bought one of his CD's.

Mevio suspends accounts

Without notice or provocation, Mevio has suspended the accounts of a great many podcasters who have used their free podcast hosting service. Many have used them for over 5 years.

Popular long running shows like allthe Channel Erk shows, Relic Radio (old time radio shows), and the Ourobouros podcast have been affected.

Consequently, we are all having to find new hosts, a service which will upload our mp3 files into iTunes for your listening pleasure. This may take some time for some shows.

In the meantime, subscribe to my Audioboo account (search for Tiggr) and listen there.

I'll post here as soon as I've sorted the host kerfuffle.
